Our Story

In the heart of Kyarumba, we witnessed many children facing barriers to education, through extreme poverty, loss of parents, Loss of property through heavy flooding and landslides in the community, primitiveness of the community, Alcoholism and lack of opportunity. We could not stand by as a Church. With faith in God and a commitment to make a difference, we opened our doors to provide not just education, but a home of love, dignity, and purpose.

Our journey has not been without challenges. From limited resources to navigate the constructions, and day-to-day operations and government registration processes, we have remained steadfast. By God’s grace and support from well-wishers and partners, we have made important progress – Including formalizing our school as a registered company limited by Guarantee (a Not-for Profit Organization) to strengthen our operations and accountability.

Today, our school continuous to provideaffordable quality early childhood and primary education to children who would otherwise have no access. Beyond classroom, we offer care, mentorship, and hope –helping children dream again and build a brighter future.

Our story is still being written. We envision expanding our facilities, improving learning resources and reaching even more children in need. With continued support, we are confident that Kyarumba Joint Christian Orphanage School will remain a beacon of hope for generations to come.

Kyarumba Joint Christian Orphanage Nursery and Primary School was born out of a deeper calling to serve the less fortunate children and other children in the community. This vision was made possible through the sacrificial love and generosity of UK friends Helen and David, whose family income laid the foundation for the school buildings, the care of the Children, and the growth of this life-changing mission. Through the big dream and passion for Christian education of our school Founder and Executive Director Mr. Mumbere Dieme, who gree up as a sponsored child by Compassion International has continued to show his heart and love to the community with all our partners and they have stood as key pillars in establishing and nurturing this great institution. What began as a simple desire under the Church trees and grass-thatched houses of Kyarumba Baptist Church to provide care and hope for Orphaned and other less fortunate children has grown into a nurturing center of learning, faith, and Purpose for all.
